Who turns up
Forty years servicing drains in Yorkshire, and a rate that does not move.
The work is done by experienced drainage engineers who have seen your problem before, not by whoever was free that morning. Mark has spent 40 years in plumbing and drainage and the standard of the work is what he would rather be judged on than the price.
- Skilled, experienced engineers. Forty years of drainage behind the work, and the right kit on the van for the job in front of them.
- A fixed hourly rate. One rate for every job, day or night, weekend or bank holiday. We do not give fixed quotations, because drainage is too unpredictable to price honestly in advance. The rate is fixed and it runs from the moment we arrive, for the hours the work actually takes.
- Same day call-outs, often within the hour. Ring us and we can usually be with you the same day. For an emergency it is frequently inside the hour, and the clock does not start until we are on your drive.
Section A–A
From your sink to the sewer.
This is the whole job, drawn once. Everything we do happens somewhere along this run. Follow it and you will know more about your drains than most people who own them.

Tracing a run
How we prove where your drain actually goes.
Half the arguments about drains are about whose drain it is. Tracer dye settles it. We put dye in at one end and watch which manhole it comes out of.
It needs the drain running, so it is not something we can do on a blockage. Clear it first, then trace it.

Straight answers
When you do not need us.
- Most blockages never need relining. A liner is for a broken pipe, not a blocked one. A drain that runs properly afterwards rarely needs anything else.
- A camera cannot see through a blockage. A survey on a blocked drain shows a brown screen and nothing more, so it belongs after the drain is running, and it is normally a separate visit at additional cost.
- Some of it is not your drain. Where a fault sits on a shared or public run it is Yorkshire Water's to fix rather than yours to pay for, and it is worth knowing which side of that line you are on.
- Some of it you can do yourself. A slow sink is usually nothing more than a trap full of fat. A bucket underneath and a hand-tight fitting undone is often the whole job.
