How we deal with it
- 01A person answers. Not a call centre and not an answering service. Someone who can tell you what to do while you wait.
- 02A straight answer on timing. If we are an hour away, that is what you will hear rather than what you want to hear. You can make a decision on it.
- 03Stop it getting worse first. Containing the immediate problem comes before anything else. Whatever the drain needs longer term is a separate conversation once it is under control.
What it costs
The same hourly rate, day or night. We only charge from arrival, with no call-out charge and no out-of-hours surcharge.
When you do not need it
If it is contained and not rising, it is urgent rather than an emergency. Worth saying so on the phone, because the two are different problems and it changes what makes sense to do next.
Common questions
- What can I do while I wait?
- Stop using water in the house, which means no toilets, no taps, no washing machine. Every litre you send down makes what is already backing up worse.
- Do you charge more at night?
- No. Same rate at 3am as at 3pm, and still nothing on the clock until we arrive.
