Drain relining
Relining repairs a broken pipe from the inside. A resin-soaked liner is drawn into the damaged section, inflated against the existing pipe and left to cure, forming a new pipe within the old one.
The point of it is that your drive, your patio and your lawn stay exactly where they are.

- Cracked or fractured pipework found on a survey

How we deal with it
- 01A camera survey comes first. Nothing gets lined without seeing inside the pipe. That means the drain has to be running, so a survey follows any clearance work and is normally a separate visit at additional cost.
- 02Clean the bore. The pipe is jetted and cut back to a clean surface, otherwise the liner has nothing to bond to.
- 03Install and cure. The liner goes in, is inflated to the pipe wall, and cures in place.
- 04Survey again. A second camera run afterwards, so you can see what you have paid for.
What it costs
Charged at our hourly rate, not as a fixed price. How long a lining job takes depends on the length, the diameter and how the pipe is accessed, and we would rather charge for the hours than guess at a figure.
When you do not need it
Most blockages never need relining. A liner repairs a broken pipe, not a blocked one. If jetting clears it and the survey looks sound, that is the job finished and there is nothing more to pay for.
Common questions
- How long does a liner last?
- A correctly installed liner is generally expected to give around fifty years. The critical part is the preparation. A liner put into a dirty pipe will not bond properly, whatever the material claims.
- Is it cheaper than digging?
- Usually, once you include reinstating whatever had to come up. A drive is expensive to put back and rarely matches afterwards.
- Can any pipe be relined?
- No. A completely collapsed run has nothing left to line against, and that becomes an excavation rather than a lining job. Which of the two you are looking at is something a camera settles rather than guesswork.
